"I dreamt of the heart...", 2021
Video, poetry, diorama, oyster, salt, sugar, aluminum

This piece is a contemplation on the image of a true “heart” (xin, as heart-mind, in the eastern significance of the word, as both a person's spiritual and conscious core rather than the physical heart) a musing in the form of both visual and literary flow of consciousness. Along with a gentle, mesmerizing voice speaking of the visitation of the heart in the odd form of an infant of only an ear, a slow and subtle metamorphosis of surreal imageries resembling a shell take place on the soft screen. What is the relation between the two? The viewer is pulled in, invited to contemplate on this enigmatic encounter inside the tiny box. Like falling into a drowse, into an unattended dream of someone else.
